My first weekend in Quebec flew by! I will try to include everything in this post, but what I forget I will blog at some point. Since I don’t have Internet directly in my room it’s kind of difficult to find time to just go chill in the lobby with wi-fi. But it is what it is.
So, as promised, here are pictures of our first days here!
This is the view from our hotel, which is right on the St. Lawrence River! The concrete toward the bottom is the actual wall of the old city.
This is a picture of the Hotel Frontenac. I’m looking forward to hopefully actually going there and then learning more about it.
Maroon Friday Saturday in Quebec City! Anna and I are roommates in a teeny tiny room, and she is my Little Sis in Chi O. Sister bonding time to the max.
This wall depicts the history of Quebec and a picture of life in the city during all four seasons. Some of the old guys are founders, explorers, etc.
Oh, ok now to the important stuff. Food. This was my first Quebecoise meal. Veal, pasta, and legumes. It was YUMMY. Some others got tartare de boeuf, but I’m not a fan of raw beef so I’m glad I stayed away from that.
And THEN they brought out dessert! I don’t really think this needs an explanation. It was yummy. Weight Watchers approved.
Y’all. We went to Elton John on Saturday night. I have never seen more people in one place in my life, and that is a true life fact. It was jam packed, elbow to elbow, in the whole dang arena thing. It was insane. We braved the crowd anyway and eventually found a spot where we could see the side of the stage and the big screens. We heard a few famous songs and called it a night because it was cold and we had braved enough crowds for one concert! (He was pretty good live though.)
That will be enough for this post – I’ll get started on Sunday’s activities and hopefully have that up soon! Thanks for reading!
